Incremental Knowledge Compilation Using the Extension Rule
نویسندگان
چکیده
Knowledge compilation by using the extension rule (KCER) has been recognized as a novel compilation approach, although this method can only deal with static knowledge bases. This paper proposes a novel incremental knowledge compilation method by using the extension rule so that it can tackle knowledge compilation problems in the dynamic environment. The method does not recompile the whole knowledge base, while it is to use the information of compiling original knowledge base to speed up the compiling process. The experimental results show that this method can deal with dynamic knowledge bases efficiently.

The forward chaining algorithm is perhaps the best-known algorithm in expert systems. However, it is not complete because it cannot compute the two-valued consequence literals of a propositional knowledge base (i.e. set of rules) with negations. If the user wants ...
متن کاملAn Incremental Knowledge Compilation in First Order Logic
An algorithm to compute the set of prime implicates of a quantifierfree clausal formula X in first order logic had been presented in earlier work. As the knowledge base X is dynamic, new clauses are added to the old knowledge base. In this paper an incremental algorithm is presented to compute the prime implicates of X and a clause C from π(X) ∪ C. The correctness of the algorithm is also proved.
متن کاملEntropy Based Fuzzy Rule Weighting for Hierarchical Intrusion Detection
Predicting different behaviors in computer networks is the subject of many data mining researches. Providing a balanced Intrusion Detection System (IDS) that directly addresses the trade-off between the ability to detect new attack types and providing low false detection rate is a fundamental challenge. Many of the proposed methods perform well in one of the two aspects, and concentrate on a su...
متن کاملO-DEVICE: An Object-Oriented Knowledge Base System for OWL Ontologies
This paper reports on the implementation of a rule system, called ODEVICE, for reasoning about OWL instances using deductive rules. O-DEVICE exploits the rule language of the CLIPS production rule system and transforms OWL ontologies into an object-oriented schema of COOL. During the transformation procedure, OWL classes are mapped to COOL classes, OWL properties to class slots and OWL instance...
متن کاملA New Method for Incremental Consequence-Finding
Consequence-finding is important to various reasoning problems, including knowledge compilation, abduction, nonmonotonic reasoning, and clause maintenance systems. The incremental version of the problem is also important because it is expensive to recompute a consequence set in response to the addition of new premises. In this paper, we present the first incremental consequencefinding method fo...
